Woohoo, double the celebration tonight as we have reached the halfway mark with Bugsy in the belly and it’s my Aunty’s 60th Birthday, so were off for a fancy meal at No 7 Balmac. I thought I’d wear this gorgeous purple tie dye velvet dress with much growing room for the bump and along with the already decided dishes I’m going to order at the restaurant. What some fashion photographers may encounter is how hard it is to capture the true nature of some fabrics on camera, (especially velvet). So what you’re missing out on seeing here are the twinkling sequins sewn all across the dress, mimicking magical images similar to what the Hubble telescope captures in a far away galaxies. I bought this dress for $2.50 during a half price tag sale at the Sallies on Princes St, what a freakin steal!
Dress | 90s tie dye velvet from Sallies on Princes St
Necklace | Something Cool in Wellington
Earrings |Lightning bolt handmade by Xoe Hall.
Clutch | Vintage handmade by my Nana
Shoes | Isabella Anselmi from Overland
I’m taking Nana out on the town with us in the form of the cute little quilt clutch she made me for Christmas back when I was about 8.
I’m also wearing my lightning bolt earring I bought at my first ever market called ‘Minties Market’ in Wellington about 8 years ago, designed by the talented artist Xoe Hall. It features a pink lighting bolt and a love heart locket, which I’ve paired with another gold lighting bolt picked up elsewhere.
